.Why can't I get this recruit? OR how the heck did I get that recruit?o From what I can tell there are a few factors.' O Coach' o 'Feeling liked' player preference - Probably related to coach Charisma rating?'

O 'Getting good coaching' player preference - Probably related to coach Teaching rating' o Coach recruiting preferences (see below)' o Current roster` o 'Getting playing time' player preference - will look at non-senior players on current roster at the recruits positions (more info below on how to exploit). Not sure if player ratings are factored in, so bad players on roster could keep you from getting a good recruit.`.

School`  'Staying close to home' (and the opposite) player preference - self explanatory`  'Playing at a big/small school' player preference - self explanatory.Changing current player positions will instantly improve recruit% when the recruit has 'playing time' as a priority.o Example: When recruiting a center, move all centers on team to power forward by editing the player in your roster. This should not affect rotations much since auto substitution tends to put the best rated players into the game regardless of position (Edit: Changing the players positions does NOT affect in-game auto substitutions. My current team now as 9 SFs and the in-game rotation never changed). This can move up recruit% as much as 15-20% instantly.Early in the Legacy mode, recruiting 3-star World recruits is a great way to get decent playerso You will only get one chance to scout so you will likely be basing the quality of the player on a few statso Some 3-star World recruits tend to be more like 2-star National playerso Take notes of what other teams are recruiting the players throughout the year. These will go away once the other teams have no scholarships left (so again, take notes).

Bubbu games

Players with little interest from schools tend to be closer to 2-star players. Players with interest from multiple big schools tend to be good 3-stars.Height is a constant. The recruit might end up having lower attributes than expected once on your roster, but they won't get shorter, so you can't go wrong with a 7-footer even with a 65 rating (early in Legacy at least).o Height doesn't seem to be factored into the recruit/player's rating, so a 7'1' 3-star center will most likely perform better than a 6'8' 3-star center.o Height is less of a factor when simulating games. 6'8' centers tend to have similar stats to 7'1' centers when simulated, but the taller players are better at getting rebounds and shooting in traffic when you play the game or play the game without selecting a team.Prioritize recruits by player position ratingso Example: The #10 point guard in a class is almost always considerably better than the #30 point guard.o This will give you an idea of how good the player is beyond the star rating.o This almost always proves to be accurate. The only downside is not being able to sort by position ratings. Grab them Mr. Basketballs when you can' o These are the recruits with a basketball icon in their profile' o They tend to always be freakishly good at something even if they are a 3-star recruit.'

O See positions rating when in doubt.' O Personal example: 3-star 6'6' PF that was Mr. Basketball of some state like Wyoming. I usually never get a player that short at PF, but the guy was very fast for a PF, 80+ rebounding, and 85+ on vertical and dunks. He could also play the 3-5 positions after growing to 6'8' by his senior year.7. Coach recruiting preferences' o Located in the coach profile' o This is just a theory, but I believe this affects the recruit% when you are not spending points (end of each week maybe?). I have tested this with recruit assistance on/off and I can’t tell much if any difference.'

O Example 1: When you really want a certain player who has high rebounding stats, you change both coach recruiting preferences (in coach profile) to rebounding to increase the recruit%. This works over time, not instantly.8.

Changing recruit positions' o 6'8'-6'10' SFs who aren't great shooters make great PFs, especially if you are running a 4-guard or Flex offense (flex uses a lot of high/low looks where the PF can rack up assists). This is best for early in Legacy when it's difficult to get a good PF.

Downside: SFs usually have lower low post defense ratings, so they may get scored on in the paint, (but they tend to be faster, which often makes up for the bad defensive positioning). Rebound ratings are easy to move up by using drills (xxx add correct name for drills).' O Highly rated centers can make great PFs if you already have a center. It's often easier to get a center than a PF, so this is very useful. PF ratings tend to be more forgiving since the skillset is less specific than a center (a center with high ratings tends to just be more rounded; a lower rated center can still be good with low post skills/rebounding/height.

See #2 for more help recruiting multiple highly rated centers.' O Point guards with low handling/passing skills with high shooting skills make great SGs. If you ever need a PG and a SG for a recruiting class grabbing up two 4-star PGs is usually better than settling on a 3-star SG.' O SFs with good shooting stats are good SGs. SFs tend to be easier to recruit in my experience.9.

Watch% increases' o Always note the% of a recruit before and after emailing/calling. +1% is average, +0% is almost hopeless unless they get slept on by other teams, +2% or more is a good match. Sometimes the% change could be 0.9% so keep an eye on the% change over a few weeks.'

O The% will increase more toward the end of the season, so don't give up unless another team has a scholarship offer. I have had the% increase by as much a 10-15% a week while calling a world recruit. Recruit 3PT letter rating conversions to roster number rating' o 3PT shooting is crucial to have a great team, so I tracked for a few years. Here's how my recruits' letter rating converted into their number rating once on my roster:Recruit Rate/Player 3pt Rate/Recruit PositionC /63 /PGC+ /75 /PGB /83 /SGB /85 /SGB /77 /SFB+ /84 /SFC+ /59 /PFC+ /58 /PFC+ /56 /CB+ /68 /C11. Potential conversion to improvements per year' o Potential for the recruit usually drops by 1-1.5 letters once they are on your roster.

I tracked over a few years, and here's what I found:. A-B-. B - C.

B - C. B+ - C. B+ - C+. B+ - C+.

C+ - D. C+ - D' o To take this even further, here is how my players' overall rating improved per year based on their Potential rating. I do the rebounding drill every week so the high numbers might be high based on a post player improving rebounding dramatically over a year:x /Low /HighA- /4 /5B /3 /5B- /4 /4B+ /4 /4C /2 /4C+ /2 /4D /1 /3F /1 /2.
